"Bug": dhcpd kills route/ipaddress on static OPIE setup

Hello,

Well I have found the cause of one of my problems.
(I'm using bootopie 0.7.2 BTW).
Upon instering a NIC PCMCIA card I have setup an IPaddres/gateway/route with
opie's network control. After about 1 minute the network would go down.
I have discovered that the network dies at the same time that DHCPD gives up
with it's "No servers found" error message.

If I quickly kill dhcpd after inserting the card, the network never goes
down, so I'm sure that it's the problem.

I think this is a bug, should I put it in bugzilla?

Also, what's the permenant fix for this? If OPIE sets the network dhcpd
shouldn't get run at all.

I can of course remove the dhcpd package, but it would be nice if it wasn't
getting called unless asked for. My guess is this is a
left-hand-not-knowing-what-the-right-hand-is-doing thing.

Thanks,

        JW
