[Help]: ppp setup

Dear all,

I have followed the instructions of pppHowto to setup ppp but failed

[root@home1 mew]# pppd call ipaq
Connect script failed

I also tried directly

[root@home1 mew]# pppd -detach noauth nocrtscts lock user ppp connect
'/usr/sbin/chat -v -t3 ogin--ogin: ppp' /dev/ttyS0 115200
192.168.1.100:192.168.1.101
Connect script failed

what's wrong with it?
