kernel with devfs and symlinks

Hello!

I just upgraded my ipaq with familiar
(http://familiar.handhelds.org/familiar/feeds/unstable/packages/armv4l/)
and kernel 2.4.7 with devfs (2.4.7-rmk3-np1-devfs).

I just installed task-x, as I wanted to save some space (not
task-familiar-complete).

To start x, the symlinks inside the /dev filesystem are missing. I had
to guess which are the right ones. Is there any package that provides
these links? I am used to devfsd on my desktop, but this does not appear
in the distribution.

And a note: the modules packages are all marked essential, and some
package(s) seems to depend on them. But most of these are pretty much
useless to me. I have a vanilla ipaq, no pcmcia, no wavelan, microdrive
etc., so eg. reiserfs is useless (which I would not even use if I had a
microdrive...). It is a waste of space.

Greetings,
Oliver
