Hi,

I am trying to install the boot loader, but I think that at some point
everything started to go wrong... I have reviewed the mailing lists
archives and I have not found nothing similar. Hope it is not too
late...

I cannot use the serial console any more. I have the "CRL bootldr"
splash screen on the iPAQ, the serial cable is correctly connected, and
my terminal (i've tried both minicom and hyperterminal) is launched and
properly configured (115200 8N1). When I press the calendar button on
the iPAQ I get the message "boot> ser_con", which seems to be ok. The
problem that I cannot type in ANYTHING. Nothing works. Characters do not
get echoed, and whatever I type the iPAQ does not react.

Can anybody help me? Thank you.

Following is a longer description of what I did:

I have an iPAQ 3660 with 64 MB RAM. I am trying to install the boot
loader as described by

        ftp://ftp.handhelds.org/pub/linux/dists/compaq/ipaq/stable/install.html

which explains the installation of bootldr 2.14.8.

I've followed all the steps until step 13. I run the load bootldr
command and transfer the image file. I got an "RXSTAT error", but since
the "verifying.... done" message appeared, I went on.

I made the recommended spot checks on step 14 (peek flash 0x0 and peek
flash 0x20) and I got the right values.

Things started to go wrong on step 15. I rebooted the iPAQ by pushing
the reset button at the lower right of the unit. After reboot I saw the
splash screen on the LCD. Pushing the calendar button gets me the "boot>
ser_con" message on the terminal. But I am not able to type in anything
at all. There is no reaction, whatever I do.

Well, I hope you guys can give me a hand. I am getting desperate.

Thank you very much,

        Miguel
