The background: IPAQ 3635, Familiar v0.4 2.4.3 rmk2-np1 kernel,
Familiar v0.4 task-familiar-complete filesystem, upgraded with
"ipkg upgrade". Took me a while, but it's working.
I'm trying to use a Kingston CIO10T CF Ethernet card. The card
is listed in the compatibility list, and the entry is already
there in /etc/pcmcia/config. But when cardmgr sees the card it
says this:
cardmgr[59]: initializing socket 0
cardmgr[59]: socket 0: Anonymous Memory
cardmgr[59]: executing: 'modprobe memory_cs'
cardmgr[59]: + modprobe: Can't locate module memory_cs
cardmgr[59]: modprobe exited with status 255
cardmgr[59]: module /lib/modules/2.4.3-rmk2-np1/pcmcia/memory_cs.o unavailable
and of course it's right; there is no such module.
I've found a couple of mentions of memory_cs in the archives, but nothing
related to Ethernet cards.
So what should I do next? My guess is I need to get a memory_cs.o . If that's
right, where should I be looking? If that's wrong, what DO I need to do?
Instructions on how to get the card working are probably highest priority,
but I'd also be grateful for an explanation - how come it's treating an
Ethernet card as "Anonymous Memory"?
Thanks,
John
