bootldr problem

I am running "bootldr-0000-2.14.8" and I installed kernel "v0.4
2.4.3-rmk2-np1" and the root
file system "v0.4 task-bootstrap.jffs2" with out any problems, on my iPAQ 3630.

I am now trying to reinstall but the bootldr no longer recognizes the
command 'load root'.
(I have no problem with 'load kernel')

Does anyone know what would cause this or a potential workaround?
