128MB DRAM status

Hi,

I just acquired some of the wiki-recommended Elpida 512Mbit DRAM chips,
and am planning on installing them soon. I have seen issues mentioned
related to initializing the memory controller. Are there any more
details on this? Does it actually work, but is unable to see all of the
memory, or is it entirely non-functional before this is fixed?
