I'd like to add an entry - it's not an entirely new environment due to
being a few packages added to familiar, but the look+feel is quite
different. (Note that I'm the author of fbvnc, therefore this might not
be entirely unbiased :-) )
?) X using VNC server and fbvnc client
http://www.w-m-p.com/ipaq/fbvnc.html
Advantages:
Standard X11
VNC based - share the iPAQ desktop with a PC
Apps are not limited to 320x240 (scalable virtual desktop)
Built-in keyboard overlay
Drawbacks:
Uses more space than native X11 (due to the large VNC X server)
Since it's basically just a different way to run X11 on the iPAQ, you can
run any PDA applications (or other X11 programs) that are available in
the Familiar distribution.
It also coexists nicely with QPE - you can switch back and forth between
the QPE PIM applications and the X11 environment.
