Alternative Familiar 0.4 installations?

Guys,

In view of this, do you know if there are good alternatives I can try?
At the moment I've installed:

  zImage-2.4.3-rmk2-np1
  task-bootstrap.jffs2

but this damn DNS segfault problem is making the whole setup useless.
