All I know that if I run 'route add default...' twice in succession that
is the error I get the second time. So I would guess that you already
have your gateway configured.
You obviously checked that you can't already ping a machine beyond the
masquerading one. (e.g. 152.19.254.81, assuming you can also ping that
from the PC).
The gateway remains configured whilst the ppp connection is active. And
this dies because of one of the following reasons: 15 minutes passes
(why is this?), the cable gets disconnected, the IPAQ sleeps, or you
stop the pppd daemon on the PC.
I'm not sure what file the command creates though...
