How i can restore asset_image.gz?

Hello

  I have an iPaq 3870. I install linux doing before a backup.
  Now i get back again to pocketpc, all is correct, my pocketpc boot, i
can restored all data and i can restore the original bootloader.
  But if i run asset viewer, i can't see a lot of data like the serial
number.
  It is a problem because i have some original software that don't work
because i lost ids from my ipaq and the registration is based on this ID.
  I think that i have lost my asset, but i have a backup.
  How i can restore my original asset from asset_image.gz? I don't find
information.
