I have poured over countless sections of the wiki and the mail list
archives but I cannot find a solution to my problem:
I did an install of familiar v0.4 following the instructions on the ftp
site precisely: back up CE, flash boot loader, flash kernel, flash
familiar-task-complete root filesytem, reboot and login via serial
console, run ipkg install_pending... Up to the point where I am to
establish a remote login via ssh. The ipaq is installed and running
correctly, X11 works (but has a minimally configured environment), pppd
works for establishing network connectivity (as does serial console login
with minicom), but I cannot login over the network because sshd fails to
run. When I execute sshd manually or via the /etc/init.d/sshd script, it
fails becaue of unresolved symbols in libcrypto.
I found one reference that said this was due to not following the
installation instructions, well which ones?
I've tried re-installing twice, with exactly the same procedure, and I get
the same results. While consistency is nice, I would like to be able to
login and begin updating my ipaq. Can anyone recommend a way out of this
scenario? Since I only have the serial port access, not any network card,
I cannot be logged in and using pppd at the same time. I also can't use
rxvt ont eh ipaq to scp down any new ipkg's because the ssh client fails
with the same messages as the server.
I'm sure that I'm missing something really simple, but I can't figure out
what it is. Perhaps does anyone have a root fs that is more "complete"
that the default task-complete?
