Some additional information...
Within /etc/pcmcia/network is the following line:
get_info $DEVICE
1. Apparently, "get_info" extracts such information as: hwaddr, instance,
socket,
stream. It feeds this information into the appropriate variables.
2. A straight ifconfig on the tested interfaces returns 0's for the hwaddr.
However, the bootstrap filesystem does not include "get_info" (or
"ide_info").
Obviously, this would cause problems.
3. Does ifconfig also make use of "get_info" (...?!), or is the lack of
information ifconfig is retrieving coincidence/part of a larger problem..?
4. Searched through package contents for get_info and came up emtpy-handed.
Does anyone know what package contains this and any related components?
(Searched Package description file in /demo tree on lorien as well)
Progressing slowly...backwards perhaps...
