USB and Apm/sleep Familiar 0.4 Kernel

After Trying to get Usb networking working Familar 0.4 (Unstable)
and Mandrake 8.0 + Kernel 2.4.7 and the Usbnet files from the
wicki page
 
I Noticed that when the Ipak goes into sleep mode
I get a message "USB ohci Controller stopped (this is very bad)"
on the mandrake box
Is there any chance ?? for Familiar O.5 to to disable automatic
sleep, when either plugged into a external psu ( battery charging
or when plugged into a cradle ) I am under the Impression that the
serial chip is turned on ( i don't know about the Usb Bit ) when
plugged into a cradle
