The joys of testing, Just FYI. Two things that _might_ need to be fixed.
ipkg might want to do a fs check to make sure a package will fit before
trying to install it. fs might want to fail gracefully when full :)
Doing some testing on a 3650 w/16m ROM I had 1.2m of free space on /. I
loaded busybox, found it needed glibc and did the ipkg install of it. It
downloaded just fine, and then when the system tried to install it it hung
for about 2 minutes, then got a system panic, then another. The terminals I
had open (through ssh, the console and one term on the LCD) any operation
presented a Segmentation Fault error message.
Having no where else to go (and it was all rsynced to my linux system anyway
;) I hit the reset button. The system booted the kernel, attempted to mount
the file system and hung. I hit reset again, it loaded the kernel, noticed
an error and tried to format part of the file system, then hung.
I'm not sure where the problem might be, I'm a tools person and have no idea
about file systems. But I don't think it should have done that.
I'll be more careful with the amount of free space in the future :) Just
thought someone might want to know about this failure state.
