I asked ``What's your reasoning?'', not, ``where do you work?''. You realize
that most Familiar installs still use the same default root password? A better
use of someone's time would be to write a graphical front-end to
``/etc/passwd''.

If you want to do the work, and provide ipks for converting Familiar installs
over to shadowed passwords, more power to you.
