        My friend has a thought of this a while ago. I assume the external
battery pack will be plggued to where you usually connect the charger.
Now, with the external battery pack plugged there, I think the ipaq will
recognize that as a normal charger too. That is, the ipaq will charge the
internal battery using the power of the external battery, which is bad. We
probably don't want to waste the power for that.

        I'm wondering if this really happens, and also if there's a
solution for this.

        Also how will the apm regard the external battery as? Probably a
normal charger again? And so we cannot tell how much the external battery
has been used.
