setting up an irda ppp connection

Hi,

I've installed familiar 0.4 (task-familiar-complete), that is to say, up
until the 'ipkg update' command.
For this I need a network connection, I've set up successfully an IrDa
PPP connection over my GPRS phone, now I would like to do the same under
Linux.
Can anyone tell me how to set this up on the iPaq? I have a scripts
that's talking to the irda port but there doesn't seem to be any
activity on the infrared port.

Any pointers would be welcome!
