task-bootstrap and ppp

I'm not a Linux novice (although my networking knowledge is not great), and
I'm not too lazy, so I tried using the task-bookstrap image of familiar 0.4.
I don't have a network card for my iPAQ, and I can't see how I can set up ppp
while I'm using the serial console. Even if it were possible, `modprobe ppp'
can't find the ppp module, so I'm doomed before I begin!

How to set up networking? I think I'll install the `full' disto, but I'm
curious to know if there is a way to do it. If not, the install doc should be
updated to indicate that people without pcmcia ethernet had better install
task-complete, not task-bootstrap.

I'm really looking forward to getting this going, it's great stuff!
