I tried several things with /etc/resolv.conf
First, just the line that you suggested:
nameserver 192.168.1.1
Second, tried the resolv.conf file on my laptop
search cfl.rr.com rr.com
nameserver 24.95.227.32
nameserver 24.95.227.33
Third, tried them all together
search cfl.rr.com rr.com
nameserver 24.95.227.32
nameserver 24.95.227.33
nameserver 192.168.1.1
None of these seemed to do the trick. I had the
same results (shown below) with each of these.
ping handhelds.org
ping: unknown host handhelds.org
and
ping -n 192.168.1.1
PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes
[ no response, so I hit ctrl-c ]
--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---
147 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
I'm hopeful that there's just one more config item
that I've missed. Any other thoughts?
