familiar extension for software in ram

dear family ;-)

I have installed most of the packages in Familiar 0.4. This fills my 16M FLASH
with just basic stuff, so to have any applications they have to be installed in RAM.
I add this stuff by rsync at bootup and put it under /usr/local on /mnt/ramfs.
I could be nice if ipkg added fuctions for placing packages in RAM i.e. to a
alternative directory (i.e. /ram).
Then we could add/upgrade this packages after boot.

Speeking of boot, my system/WM freezes, after a while - when I start
another of a few applications. Suspend/resume with power button works(i.e. bootldr),
but serial
console login stops after typing username - so it looks like a process initiation
problem, but now messages at the console. Any ideas ?

Among the applications I have collected/compiled is sylpheed for mail, and dillo for
www. sylpheed is not tailored for the screen format, but the basic stuff works
after tweeking on a big screen.
Anyone that got althea working - I mocked up altea 0.3.4 like the micro-Althea
0.1 but it crashes ..?

Any plans to make a collection of apps for Familar ?

regards
Olav
