My first thought is that you are running into a problem with minicom's
internel x-modem implementation. You need to be using a better
implementation such as that provided by the lrzsz package. You can check
whether this is the case by running 'sx --version' from a shell prompt and
seeing if it mentions lrzsz. Other than that, double and triple check that
you are using the correct terminal settings: 115200 8-N-1, NO flow control.
 You could also try getting the xmodem upload started faster, or adjust the
xmodem_timeout bootldr parameter, I would recommend adding a 0 to the end
of the default value (i.e. multiply by 0x10).
