First, the particulars of my setup:
Familiar 0.4 stable - downloaded and installed task-complete.
additionally, installed Bash,ae, slang and ipkg _0.6, via ipkg (btw,
very nice - good job Carl)
When trying to use cpu_scale, I noticed that /proc/scale didn't exist
so I assumed in wasn't loaded.
I installed the cpu_scale package but it was compiled for an *np2 kernel
(my Ipaq reported this when I insmodded cpu_scale.o) so I uninstalled
same.
Alexander informed me that cpu_scale was, in fact, in the kernel_modules
package, so I downloaded and installed
kernel-modules-2.4.3-rmk2-np1_fam3_arm.ipk (dated May 13).
After I insmod cpu_scale.o and I reset the cpu speed to 59 mhz, the
familiar menu becomes completely unreadable (appears the resolution gets
really coarse). I then try to reset the cpu speed to 206 Mhz and get the
following (from the console, no errors reported when fist setting cpu
speed):

This problem persists after re-booting, hitting the reset and a hard
power cycle.
