Gnome and KDE agree on a standard for describing menu entries, the entries
are dewscribed in ".desktop" files and arranged in direcories.
They do *not* agree on where these files should be placed, the Gnome menus
start at [prefix]/share/gnome/apps, while KDE (I believe) start at
[prefix]/share/AppLink
