Of course he is causing fear, uncertainty and doubt. Changing the subject
line to "Still unmaintained?" for example. He is well aware of the current
plan (see below).

This is the current plan:
1) 0.8.3 is too close to being released for any major changes. It has a hand
full of bugs that need to be resolved before it is released. Please see:

http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/familiar/301/30187.html
2) After 0.8.3 is released, start discusions on 0.9.0.

The URL below contains what I said for 0.9.0. Do you see any mention of OE
going away?
http://handhelds.org/hypermail/familiar-dev/7/0735.html
Within the scope of the familiar project, OE has many issues. They need to be
resolved. Some of the issues are with OE. Some of the issues are with how OE
is utilized. Maybe OE will go away in favor of a better solution. Maybe the
OE issues will be resolved. It may even be hybrid solution. Until they
options have bee reviewed, it is a bit premature to debate solutions that
have yet to be proposed.
Most of the issues are fairly well known. They are not secret. Jamey, pb,
nelson and myself have touch upon them several times in the past. For
example:

It is a great topic.

I would be happy to discuss this after 0.8.3 is released. I wish that there
was more hours in the day, so I could work on the 0.8.3 release and 0.9.0 at
the same time.
