Familiar 8.0.3 RC1/gpe h3600: Fonts size 7 almost unreadable

Have installed RC1 on a iPaq 3630, and have collected some notes.
I'm new here and rather unfamiliar with the familiar bug database so
excuse me for posting this on the mailing list. If someone could tell
how to do this better, please do.

Now, in many of the applications, the default font size (7) gets so
small the text is almost unreadable. Some characters are okay, while
others are so pressed together you can't distinguish them. Others again,
such as the i and l, become victims of bad antialiasing.

Not being too fond of squinting and guesswork, font size 8 is much more
appreciable. The problem might be a rather low-resolution screen by
todays standards, so fixing the problem for all platforms at once may
not be all that easy.

Have made screenshots of how font size 7 and 8 looks, and here they are:

I imagine posting this as a bug should go against gpe-conf, but version
0.1.27-r0 of gpe-conf doesn't exist in the bugzilla database.
