and the corresponding discussion on IRC in mind I'm not convinced that
merging is going to work out right.

And I'm not sure what you expect to gain from the merge either. There's
much to lose (a well introduced name) and AFAICT little (if anything
at all) to gain.

Personally, I'm very interested in that. Much like I'd have been
interested in the thread on OE and the unstable feed on familiar@

We already are via OpenEmbedded. Again, I'm not sure what the problem is
you're trying to solve.

Collaboration is already happening. What does merging buy us?
