I wondered how long before this would come up. As long as all the differences
between all of the various models can be handled gracefully, I say go for it.

Personally I think it would be better kept as a distribution aimed at PDAs,
smart phones and other handheld devices. Still, if there is enough interest
in maintaining images/etc. for these other platforms with different
requirements, I suppose it could be made to work.
