perhaps i'm misunderstanding what happens with the fundamental
operation, but i'm curious why, when i run:
$ ipkg print-architecture
as a regular user, i get:
ipkg: Cannot create directory `/usr/lib/ipkg': Permission denied
ipkg: Cannot create directory `/usr/lib/ipkg': Permission denied
ipkg: Cannot create directory `/usr/lib/ipkg': Permission denied
arch all 1
arch noarch 1
arch i686 10
just because i haven't yet installed anything, and therefore, there
is no /usr/lib/ipkg directory.
certainly, just printing the architecture is not a root-only operation,
and if that directory doesn't yet exist, why would "ipkg" then try to
create it when all i'm asking for is the architecture?
can someone clarify this?
