Seriously Frustrated with ipaq

Hello I Recently Acquired a Compaq ipaq (Model: 3635) from a friend of mine
an i haven't been able to log in. It Is Running the Cambridge Research
Laboratory ARM boot loader (rev 2.21.12) . I have tried to hard reset but it
keeps bringing me back to the boot loader screen... i hope you can help me
with this problem and i will be checking my email for a reply thanks for
your help also any
 information on the ROOT account might be useful
