In #handhelds.org earlier, mace suggested a modular bootloader to cut
down on bloat (what bloat? I don't see any bloat.. <continues working on
infrared support> ;) ). Only core functionality would be included in the
stock bootloader - xmodem over serial, possibly USB, and whatever you need
to get Linux running. Additional modules like IR, dualboot or debug could
be uploaded to the bootloader, which would then allow you to use the new
commands.
