You don't actually need the root password, because all you need is
access to the bootldr. Press the reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ,
and press the calendar menu at the splash screen. Connect to it with
your favorite terminal - Hyperterm, TeraTerm, Minicom, whatever. =)
By the way, try 'rootme' - it might still be the default password...
