Jamey,
on the 'boot vfat' front...
After much trying with different CF Card from Mr.Flash
and DELKIN DEVICES I suspect there is something strange
that makes some CF Card works and some not.
I have a 16Mb DELKIN DEVICE Flash that works as described
with initrd,params,zimage in the boot directory of a VFAT
partition. It boots but I have no much space for anyting
else than familiar-bootstrap in the second partition.
I also have a couple os Mr.Flash CF Card, the first is a
128Mb the second is 64Mb. Looking at the output of the
'boot vfat' command the only relevant difference I found
is that the 128Mb Mr.Flash CF Cards show up has having:
bytes_per_sector=00000210
instead of:
bytes_per_sector=00000200
yelded by the 16Mb DELKIN CF Card.
The 64Mb Mr.Flash CF Card doesn't even start recognizing the fs.
I am sure both CF Card brands work normally both under WinCE
and Linux, I used them for some time now with no problems.
Are there chance the bootldr will boot also cheap CF Cards ?
Log output of both Mr. Flash 128Mb and DELKIN DEVICES 16Mb
are included as attachments.
Sincerely,
Diego Perini
