Step by step wins the race, or however that goes.
It is reading from a raw partition. Initrd is a must, or else Linux
will not be able to use the external drive for a root filesystem. I
will probably have initrd loaded from the second partition by the end of
the day, and then you guys can play with it.
I'm planning ext2 support, which will handle ext3 as long as zImage,
ramdisk, params are flushed from the journal. Also vfat. No plans for
reiser. Of course jffs2 over block device would be ok -- already have
jffs2 support.
