sorry for the cross-posting in advance, this is my first mail to these lists.
(hello, incidentally)
So I have two identical iPAQ 3670s, and when loading familiar 0.5 I have some
issues with the bootloader not loading the kernel properly on one of the two
iPAQs. I get a crc error uncomressing the kernel off my jffs2 image
Now, before anyone asks - yes, I'm aware of heat issues during flashing, etc
etc. I have flashed this iPAQ approximately 12-15 times trying to get 0.5
running on it. This morning I did it after having had it powered down for 8
hours and sitting in the A/C - with no different luck.
At this point, you would think that perhaps I've done something to mess up my
iPAQ, however - reloading the old bootloader and loading other images onto the
ipaq works okay.
Now, seeing as the one working 3670 had no working familiar on it when I
flashed the new bootloader, etc, onto it, it leads me to believe that
something in perhaps params is not being reset properly when I moved between
versions - however I made sure that I ran params reset and then set a few
variables by hand, including (but not limited to)
kernel_in_ram
kernel_partition
boot_type
autoboot_kernel_part
linuxargs (yes, I set it to load off of /2 instead of /3)
any thoughts?
