bootldr unable to find file

hello listers,
     I am facing a strange problem with my board here on which i am
running the bootloader. If i have more than 0x480 files in my flash, the
bootldr while scanning the files in the flash is unable to find the new
files. This only happens when i type reboot, or reset the hardware. If i
power off and on the hardware it is able to recognize the files.
    The major problem is that when i copy a new zImage to my box, and it
happens to fall above the above number, i get the message
   find_inode-> unable to find file zImage
 And hence will not boot linux, Is it a known problem with the ipaq's or
is it just me who is facing this problem ?
