while you'r in bootldr console..

        set linuxargs noinitrd root=/dev/mtdblock1 init=/bin/sh console=/dev/ttySA0

modify any of the params to suit your configuration, just make sure init=/bin/sh
then boot

you should get right at an sh prompt, where you can edit the inittab file.
