possible defectuos flash??

Hi, I am experiencing some problems with my iPAQ that are making me think about
a problem with the flash memory, possibly a defectuos sector or something like
that since every time I try to "load root" it ends with the same error:

addr: 00510000 data: 084D58DB
addr: 00520000 data: 07BB15BD
programFlashBlock error
  flashAddress=00526E00
  status=00900080
error while copying to flash!

and the parameter "flashAddress" has more or less the same address.

I have two options (or please suggest any):

-Get the bootloader to check my iPAQ's memory in order to confirm that this is
corrupted or anything and take the consequent steps.
-Directly contact Compaq's technical support with my problem. Does anyone know
who should I address?
