I wrote a section on cloning ipaq installations that is in:

I see it's a bit outdated. Once you have a jffs2 image in a vfat filesystem on a CF card or pcmcia hard drive, you can install it via the bootldr:

  boot> vfat ls
  boot> copy hda1:root.img root

where root.img is the name of the image file in the vfat filesystem.
