installing Linux on MMC Card (3870) anyone?

hi guys

been reading this mailing list on and off for quite sometime,
and decided that i`ll install Linux on my iPAQ, if i could retain my CE
installation untouched, on the main memory..

one approach was to use CF Memory card, which sounds good to me,
 but isn't so convenient, as i`ll have to carry a bulky sleeve around
wherever i go..

Unfortunately there hasn't been any mention to whether anyone managed to
install it on an MMC card formatted as ext2/ext3,

does the boot loader support MMC cards yet?
if not, is that support planned anytime soon?
