Rreset the ipaq by depressing the restet switch on the bottom-right with the stylus.
The bootldr's screen states what version it is.
To upload it, you nead a serial connection to the bootldr.
Use HyperTerminal on Windows with the iPaq's serial connectin cable/cradle to connect to the bootldr.
There are instructinos for meddling with the boot loard on the handhelds.org web stie -- read them. If you fry your bootldr, you're done with. You must use the EXACT HyperTerminal settings that are mentioned on the web site.
You will get a command prompt that looks like this:
boot>
type help
Oh, before doing all this, if you really do need a new bootldr, download it to your local hard drive.
There's a command for loading new bootldrs. Probably load bootldr, but I don't remember. You run that comend, and the ipaq goes into a mode where it will recive the bootldr. THen you do an xmodem upload of hte new bootldr file. BE VERY CAREFUL, and absolutely do not intterupt the process, or you will have an expensive paperweight. Make sure you really need a new vesrion -- there's a whole page on restoring Windows, read it. It says what version you need.

See the web site, there's a page on the bootloader.
