Hi,
Let see the prices:
iPaq 36x0 w. 64 Meg RAM is $250 on eBay
PC card sleeve $120 on eBay
Toshiba 2 Gb PC card microdrive is $85+s/h on eBay
Total: $470 for a pretty much full blown computer.
Conclusion: booting from IDE harddrive is going mainstream fast. Bootloader
must be adjusted to support ext2/ext3 and dual/triple boot before Familiar
can use it for plug-and-play IDE distro. The configuration of dual-boot:
basic organizer in Flash, portable entertainment center at IDE.
Do you think the mentioned adjustment in booloader can drive a broad
platform acceptance?
Thanks,
Andrew
