2.18.42 still hard-resets

2.18.42 still hard-resets each time I go for a soft reset. I've run in
the past 2.18.01, .16, .26, .37, and now .42

I know there was some problems with a range of versions, and that it
might have continuing affects on later bootloaders. Am i correct?

Should I try the latest? (.43) Should I try and downgrade? (.01)
I know that this was a problem in the past, but I thought it was sorted
out in the latest-est bootloaders.

Any ideas. Should I try flashing back to the parrot and see if it still
happens?
