Hi, sorry for the late reply, I didn't have time the last days.

I created the partition with linux too, but I assumed that did was the
way that windows formats the sd card too. You can change this in the
initrd, in linux:
1. rename initrd to initrd.gz (it is in fact a gzipped image)
2. gzip -d initrd.gz
3. (as root) mount -o loop initrd <mountpoint>, where <mountpoint> is
a directory
5. Edit the linuxrc script in <mountpoint>
6. umount <mountpoint>
7. gzip initrd
8. replace the old initrd with this initrd.gz (so renaming it to initrd)

I know, if that's working, we x50v guys finally have an interactive
shell (not very handy using a console and touchscreen on the pda, but
it is interactive). Too bad I'm not very familiar with kernel
programming, and I don't have much free time for the moment... I
surely hope Fisherss helps us getting it up and running.

Did you try yet?

As I said before, thank Fisherss (and Richard, but he's gone), he has
done all the hard work :-)
