Hi,
I think you have a wrong impression about the current status of the
port. We're still in the phase without actually flashing, so your wm
2003se rom isn't removed from the device. We load the kernel from
memory/sd card/built-in storage and load the root fs from sd card. CF
is not supported (as I have heard) yet. When you're done with linux
(we don't have power management yet), you have to reset your device
(which automatically does a hard reset cause the ram is overwritten)
and you get your windows back.
So just backup your pda (functionality built in activesync if you're
using windows), try it, and restore the backup when you're done.
