You're doing it the right way, try to put the files on root directory.
About the ROM... i don't know if it'll work in an spanish Axim, i bought
mine over eBay from a USA guy, so mine is not spanish but an american one.
Once a friend bought an hp ipaq from Japan and told me that it could be
possible that if he put the spanish rom to the japanese ipaq, the pda
would not boot at all...
So... better don't put another language unless someone can garantee you
it would work fine.
