Have you tried to put the files from
http://lumumba.uhasselt.be/~jedi/x50v-linux/ into your built-in storage
or in the ram?

I was using an SD card to store the kernel and other files and it didn't
boot because of that, also bear in mind that you have to enable mirror
mode, and also try to boot the kernel with a fresh "windows" ( the way
you have it when resseted the ram ).

If those thing doesn't work try to updgrade to the latest rom from dell
at www.dell.es
