Your result mirrors ours. The bootloader doesn't report whether there is a
CRC present or not. We don't know what is displayed if the CRC file is
correct. After trying various hex and text versions just containing a valid
CRC using different algorithms I'm thinking that the file must contain some
extra data that the loader is looking for. Trying to brute force this would
seem to be pointless.
Perhaps our best bet at this stage is for somebody to decompile/reverse the
bootloader itself after dumping a ROM and see what kind of info it expects
to find in the CRC file.
