Your how to and files posted were excellent. I am testing with x51v and
booted right a way. I tried to mess with all of the settings
applications that gpe comes with and I noticed following two behaviors
with the off set on the touch screen issue that all of the users have
posted:

1. on the bottom right quadrant is were the off set seams to be the
worse. Every second tap is closer to real expected behavior than the
first tap. so user when in trouble with the virtual keyboard tap off
odd taps off the virtual keyboard it get more positive typing. I know
its not solution but when in need can get you to were you are trying to get.

2. Flipping the screen from Portrait to Landscape seams to be even
better. the offset seams to be none.

hope this observation helps in giving the direction.
