The tip is to use entire Handhelds.org wiki, not oftentimes
outdated and lacking pages of specific ports. For example, by starting at
http://handhelds.org/wiki and following to general development docs,
you'll quickly find http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/HandheldHardwareXref
which tells that ACX100 is used in the whole bunch of handhelds. Many
of them have at least partially working shim drivers (as shim is the
only things needs to be written) in drivers/net/wireless/acx/ . You
can look at them to get idea what machine-specific parameters they
need, and then use haret, mailing list and irc archives to get idea
how they were found for those handhelds.
